Your Android box.
Your Loopstand screen.
Install the updated TV app to play live Loopstand promotions immediately. Scan the TV’s QR code and connect an approved screen to play its assigned campaigns and record completed playback.
Download v1.3 test APKOpen TV player in browserA working, updated Android System WebView is required. The app supports both ordinary Android launchers and Android TV launchers, includes no device-specific native libraries, and does not require Google Play Services. Some inexpensive boxes use older or modified firmware; test the actual box before using it for a live advertising screen.
1. Install on the box
- Connect the box to the TV with HDMI and connect it to the internet using Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- Open loopstand.com/tv in the box’s browser and download the APK. You can also copy the APK to a USB drive and open it with the box’s file manager.
- If Android asks, allow that browser or file manager to install unknown apps. On some older boxes, this is called Unknown sources in Security settings. Open the APK and choose Install.
- Launch Loopstand TV (Test) from the TV’s app list. Select Play ads to load the current live promotions, or Connect screen to link your screen.
Open the v1.3 APK on the same box and choose Update. It uses the same app identity and signing certificate, so Android can keep your saved screen connection. Do not uninstall the old app first if you want to retain that connection.
2. Play ads or check the display
Play ads loads real promotions from Loopstand’s current public feed. This is an online preview; it does not record advertising earnings. Connect an approved screen for its assigned campaigns and playback reporting.
For a hardware check, open Settings → Display test. The local display test rotates through graphics, movement and an actual 720p H.264/AAC video. It creates no advertising reports. Use the arrow buttons and OK on your remote. Press Back to reveal the controls, then Back again to return home.
Open Settings to adjust Sound, Fit, Rotation and Safe area. If the TV cuts off the edges, increase Safe area. Turn Sound on to hear the video test tone. Device information shows the actual Android/WebView version, display size and storage status.
3. Pair with your Loopstand screen
- Choose Connect screen. The TV shows an eight-character code and a QR code.
- Scan the QR code with your phone. The connection page carries your TV code automatically. Sign in with your usual Eravo ID if asked.
- Select your approved screen and tap Connect TV. The TV waits for the server to confirm your approval, saves the connection, and automatically opens its ad schedule. If no approved screen is listed, register a screen in the owner dashboard and wait for its approval.
- Keep the internet connected while the ads download. Approved, eligible ads assigned to the screen play according to their schedule. An empty schedule shows a waiting screen.
Daily operation
| Playback | Controls disappear automatically, leaving the ad on the whole screen. OK shows controls; arrows move focus; Menu opens Settings. |
|---|---|
| Schedule updates | The connected player checks Loopstand every 15 seconds under normal conditions, with a longer retry delay during outages. |
| Internet outages | The APK contains its player interface. Successfully downloaded ads can continue while the last server-authorized schedule remains valid. Expired schedules stop until the box reconnects. |
| Restarting the app | The saved screen resumes when the app is opened if “Resume on launch” is on. Pairing and downloaded media are stored on this box. |
| Power cuts | Automatic launch after reboot depends on the manufacturer’s startup settings or managed-device configuration. This app does not claim to force boot launch or lock the Home button. |
| Standby | The app asks Android to keep the screen awake during a display session. Check the TV and box’s own sleep timers if the display still turns off. |
| Reporting | Only eligible ads that complete real visible playback are queued for reporting. Reports retain their IDs during retries. Live previews and display tests produce no ad reports. |
Media and storage
Start with MP4 using H.264 video and AAC audio, or JPEG/PNG images. Start your hardware check at 720p or 1080p. The player also attempts WebM and WebP when the box supports them. Device-specific codec and resolution support varies.
The TV player limits a single downloaded creative to 16 MB and its media cache to approximately 128 MB. Device information reports what has actually downloaded. If storage is unavailable, it can play online but cannot promise offline recovery.
If something does not work
- App does not install: check the Android version and available space. This APK requires Android 7.0 or later and is for sideload testing.
- Blank screen or failed video test: update or enable Android System WebView, then reopen the app. Send the box model, Android version and Device information for a targeted fix.
- Code expires or connection fails: read the connection message on the TV, choose New code, and scan the new QR code with your phone. Check the box’s automatic date/time and internet connection. An expired code cannot connect a screen.
- No assigned ads appear: confirm that the screen is approved, not paused, and has currently eligible ads. Choose Refresh; watch the download count. You can return Home and choose Play ads to check the public live feed separately.
- Connection was revoked: pair again. A revoked screen clears its saved credentials and media; the TV never continues with an invalid key.
Build, signature, alignment and software checks have been performed. Physical TV-box playback and remote behavior still need to be checked on your model.
